Hetty New Wave// ‘Virtually Meaningless’ British New Wave Reimagined
A new project exploring and combining disparate and transoceanic musical genres. Drawing from an eclectic collection of British new wave, pop and rock, the group reinterpret and reharmonise this iconic music with sensitivity, space and jazz harmony. Grayson, Farrugia & Sherlock are a celebrated hammond organ jazz trio, whom recently released ‘Wolf + Hound’ a beautiful collection of original music. Consisting of the classic Hammond B3 organ together with a Leslie cabinet, drums and guitar, the trio allows an open sound that gave equal weight to each musician, allowing a freedom not often found in larger ensembles. The colours and space within are the perfect conduit to deliver a beautiful, yet uncommon, presentation of the music that shaped a generation.
Performed at : MONA (Gilbert & George Exhibition Opening), Hobart, Tasmania; Melbourne Recital Centre; Kew Courthouse; Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival 2015; Monash University Clayton

With a style all her own, Hetty brings a world of syncopation, musicality and sass to her swing performances, along with a well curated repertoire; and is a true entertainer on the bandstand. Previous collaborations include an acclaimed album with world renowned pianist and bandleader Gordon Webster, and a new release with Canberra swing band The Dan Mclean Hot Six.
